Thanks to everyone for the prayers, well wishes and general caring for our little guy. We did meet with the specialist, and were able to learn more about kidneys that anyone ever should need to know. Our baby's kidneys are actually both enlarged (or dialated). The left one is very mild and the right one is mild to moderate. In simpler terms... the tube from his kidney to his bladder is working, but is not as far open as normal. Our baby is producing more urine than what the tube can process through, so it is backing up into his kidney. The specialist explained to us all of the things that may happen, and we were very comforted by what he had to say. I guess this is more common that what I thought. He says that unless the kidneys are severe, they just continue to monitor them closely. We go back to him for another in-depth ultrasound the first part of March. He will see then if the kidneys have corrected themselves, stayed the same or gotten larger. At that point he will make a decision on what (if anything) we will need to do. So, until then we just continue to pray that they condition will correct itself and everything will be alright!
This ultrasound was the best yet! The tech was awesome and walked us through every part of his body. Everything else looks great! His heartbeat was around 150 bpm and strong, and they estimated him at about 4 lbs 6 oz. I gasped, but they assured me that was average. I am still afraid that he is going to come out at 10 pounds... let's hope not! We saw that he had chubby cheeks and lots of hair, too. Our little guy was very photo-genic at this ultrasound, so I will leave you with a close-up picture of his face. Unfortunately, it is not as cute as the 3D one from last time, but that's what I got.
Thanks again for all of your prayers!

What neat ultrasound pictures! It is amazing how well you can see his sweet little face! So glad to hear that things are looking okay:) What a little miracle!
So glad to hear you received some good and comforting news! We continue to pray for you guys!
I feel like I should comment here, even though we've had so many live conversations :) I, too, am so glad to hear all is well for now. Just think - how lucky you are to have all these ultrasounds :) Certainly is not a trade off for the worry, but a nice 'perk' :)
Continuing to pray for a healthy baby boy :) I can't wait to meet him! :)
Love ya!
Wendy
